REFUND APPLICATIONS

Under certain conditions and upon submission of the following documents, it is possible to receive a refund for the semester ticket, which forms part of the total semester fees. Refunds are issued on a monthly basis.
 
It is important that all financial enquiries are sent exclusively to finanzen@asta.fh-dortmund.de.

Refunds can only be processed for the current semester.
This means, for example, that you cannot apply for a refund for the winter semester during the summer semester; you must wait until the winter semester to do so.

Complete applications for the current semester will be processed no later than two weeks after the end of the semester!

 

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE UNIVERSITY – STUDY ABROAD – WORK PLACEMENT

Are you currently withdrawing from the university, going abroad, or undertaking an internship outside Germany? If you have the necessary supporting documents (see application form), you are entitled to a refund. The amount refunded depends on the period during which you do not use the ticket. This means that a pro-rata refund, for example for two months, may also be possible.

Important: For stays or work placements abroad, the completed application for reimbursement and supporting documents must be submitted no later than 4 weeks after the start of lectures for the current semester.

The same deadline applies to students who are enrolled at two universities and hold a Germany Semester Ticket.

Students with a ‘Wertmarke’ (supplementary document to the severely disabled person’s pass) are eligible for a refund of the cost of the semester ticket. The application is valid for one semester only; if you continue your studies, you must submit a new application in the following semester. The deadline for submission is throughout the current semester. Refund applications for the winter semester can only be submitted after the start of the winter semester. The same applies to the summer semester.

Important: If a student is unable to travel (i.e. unable to use public transport due to illness) for a period of at least three months, they must provide a medical certificate in order to receive a refund.

Nextbike Annual Subscription Refund Application

You can now claim a refund on your Nextbike annual subscription from us. This is because our contract with Nextbike has recently expired, and we wish to offer an alternative.

You can find the relevant application form and the required information here.  

Please note that you have no legal right to a refund and that certain conditions apply.
